We want to hear from you!
The climate and culture of a school, and by extension a school district, has a direct impact on learning and education quality. A positive school climate means fewer students drop out of school, fewer incidents of violence occur, more students feel connected and become involved, and more teachers are retained year after year.
Your voice is important, and we want to know what you think. In an effort to continue improving our school climate and culture, the Smithville School District would like you to take a 10-15 minute survey. Your feedback will help us create a better climate and ensure a tradition of excellence for all our students, staff, and families!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Is the survey mandatory?
No, but the more information we have, the better conclusions we can draw and stronger plans we can put in place.
Who should respond?
All stakeholders - school staff, parents/guardians and students in grades 5-12. Staff and students will take the survey during the school day.
Who gets the results?
District Administration will process the raw data then create summaries for use by different stakeholder groups including building leadership teams, counselors, district leadership, and various committees. A summary of results will also be shared with all stakeholders via the district website. All survey responses are anonymous.
How long will the survey be open?
The survey will launch on Monday, May 15 and will remain open until Wednesday, May 31.
SSD will begin to utilize the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages with important information about events, school closing and safety alerts. You can participate in this service by sending a text message of "Y" or "Yes" to our school district's short code number, 67587.
