Hello Eagle Heights students and families!  I have joined the amazing 5th grade team as the ELA teacher! I graduated from KU in 2005 with a degree in Architecture and worked in the field for several years.  After starting a family, I stayed at home with my children and did childcare in my home.   It was during this time I found my calling to work with children and my passion for eduction.

This year our focus will be on gaining independence, time management and positive peer relationships.  Additionally, I believe children learn in a variety of ways so we will explore our learning styles and how to use them to thrive with all tasks and activities.   I will teach the students to think critically and problem solve as well as challenge themselves to reach their full potential.

I am a mother of 4 children so I understand the needs of the students as well as the parents.  I believe the success of a child lies in the partnership between the classroom and at home. My door is always open and I will strive to communicate with parents often.

I live in Liberty with my husband and four children;  Cameron, Kylie, Chloe and Lakin.  We have a golden retriever named Tucker, a 2 lb yorkie named Stella and a bearded dragon.  I can’t wait to meet all of the 5th graders and look forward to a year to remember!
