Ms. Tamarin Stark

I am from a small rural town called Newburg, MO and moved to the Kansas City area to be closer to family and friends. Before coming to Smithville I taught for four years in Waynesville, MO and am now in my 14th year at SHS. I have one pet, which is an African Grey parrot I inherited. His name is Zachariah (Zach). Sadly he only says one word in Spanish, "Adiós". I love volleyball, playing cards and traveling.

I have degrees in Social Sciences, Secondary Education and a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other languages). I finished my masters while on sabbatical teaching English to adults in Santiago, Chile in 2015-16. I am an educator and specifically a language teacher because I LOVE to learn about a variety of subjects and language is used in all topics.

This year I will be teaching Spanish I, Spanish II, AP Language and culture as well as American who I know will stay strong and be mentors to the freshmen. This year I am excited about exposing students to not only a new language, but various Spanish cultures and places from around the world as well as giving them a foundation in their own culture through American History.

I will be a sophomore Warrior time teacher and I am BUILDING STRONG.
