Ms. Tamarin Stark

I am from a small rural town called Newburg, MO and moved to the Kansas City area to be closer to family and friends. Before coming to Smithville I taught for four years in Waynesville, MO and am now in my 16th year at SHS. I have one pet, which is an African Grey parrot I inherited. His name is Zachariah (Zach). He only says "Hola"and "Adiós" in Spanish. I love volleyball, playing cards and traveling.

I have degrees in Social Sciences, Secondary Education and a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other languages). I finished my masters while on sabbatical teaching English to adults in Santiago, Chile in 2015-16. I am an educator and specifically a language teacher because I LOVE to learn about a variety of subjects and language is used in all topics.

This year I will be teaching Spanish III, Spanish IV, Spanish V and ESL (English as a Second Language).  I am excited about deeping the upper level students knowledge of Spanish, but also enriching their global perspective of various Spanish cultures and places from around the world.

I will be a 10th grade Warrior time teacher, I am WARRIOR STRONG and I want to BE THE ONE to help students succeed!
