Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Julie Winterboer

My name is Julie Winterboer. I have two children and two Cavalier King Charles spaniels - so I consider myself a mother of four. When I am not at school, I am busy cooking, reading and spending time outside.
I entered the world of education in 1994. After growing up in Iowa, I wanted to live somwhere new, so I started my educational career as a middle school communication arts teacher in a small district in Northwest Missouri. Since then I have taught high school communication arts as well as served as a middle school and high school counselor. In 2008, I joined the Smithville Warriors, and I am currently the high school library media specialist.
It is my aspiration to instill the love of reading in all of my students. I became an educator many years ago because I had an educator who made a difference in my life. Therefore, I hope to make a positive impact in the lives of the students I am fortunate enough to work with each day.
I teach several online courses: World Literature and Women's Literature and Literature of Social Change. My Warrior Time will be the 9th grade level.
This year I am excited about sharing with the high schoolers all the new young adult literature. I am BUILDING STRONG!
