Miss Wendy Miller

My name is Wendy Miller and I am the youngest of five children.  I had four older brothers, but lossed one in the Vietnam War.  I am definitely an animal lover and have four cats and one dog who is very spoiled.  I grew up in Edgerton, Missouri and am a 1984 graduate of North Platte High School in Dearborn, Missouri.  During my high school years North Platte and Smithville were conference rivals.  In my spare time I like to read, go on trips with my family, watch movies, and work in my yard.

I began my teaching career in 1990 at King City, Missouri teaching middle school and high school special education.  I transferred to the Smithville School District in 1996 teaching middle school special education.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Northwest Missouri State University in 1988, and my Master of Science degree from Northwest Missouri State University in 1993.

I have taught special education for twenty-eight years, six of those years were at King City, Missouri, the last twenty-two years have been at the Smithville Middle School.  This will be my first year working at SHS.  I enjoy working with students, watching them grow and mature, and helping them succeed.

This year I will be teaching two study skills classes and a Resource ELA 11/12.  I will also be in a CWC ELA IV class with Mr. Houck.  I will also be teaching eighth grade resource math and study skills at the middle school.  I am BUILDING STRONG!
