Welcome to the Smithville School District where our vision is to create a premier learning environment where all students can reach their highest potential! I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work and serve as Superintendent of this fine school system. One of the attributes that originally attracted me to Smithville is not only a great place to learn, but a great place to raise a family in general. My wife, Laura, and I are very pleased with our decision to raise our four children in Smithville.
The Missouri School Boards Association has recognized our Board as they are consistently eligible for the Outstanding Board of Education Award. The Smithville Board of Education has established priorities that guide our efforts and work. The outstanding leadership of our Board ensures high expectations in everything we do, excellent financial stewardship, and a significant emphasis on student academic achievement.
The high expectations of our Board, staff, parents, citizens and our students themselves result in numerous awards in academics, achievements in athletics and accolades in activities for our graduating students. Our elementary schools, middle school, and comprehensive high school routinely demonstrate the very best in a quality education. With over 98% of seniors graduating on time, an average ACT score of 22.8, and thousands of earned college credit hours, the Smithville School District sets itself apart as one of the premier K-12 public schools in Missouri.
This web site is one of the communication avenues we use to keep our citizens connected to the district. I encourage you to use it to stay informed of the great endeavors undertaken by our staff and students. There are countless links with essential information for keeping current on the school district.
We value input and feedback as we collaborate to improve in our quest to ensure all students achieve at the highest level. As we manage the district’s continued growth and partner with vital stakeholders, I hope you will join us as we become a premier school district.
