Mrs. Reian Wilson
My name is Reian Wilson and I have had the pleasure of teaching at Smithville since 2015. My interview for my current position is the main reason I came to Smithville; I felt comfortable, needed and appreciated. Being a first year teacher, those characteristics were important to me and solidified that SHS would help me grow as an educator. I enjoy spending time with my family watching baseball and football games, as well as wrestling matches. When we aren't at sporting events we like to spend time at the playground and eating out. We have lots of extended family in the KC area, so we like planning visits to spend time with them too.
I originally thought I was destined for medical school or something that was related to health professions. It was through a volunteer experience in Columbia that I learned how "turned off to science" former high school students were. This bothered me and drove me to look into education. Once I started taking classes and completed some student-teaching, I knew I had found my niche.
Currently, I am teaching General Biology, Anatomy & Physiology and Advance Biology (AP and Dual Enrollment), but I do have experience teaching Genetics and Microbiology as well. Science is a dynamic field aimed at bettering our world, but I especially love learning about conservation ecology and cellular biology.
I will be a 10th grade Warrior Time teacher and I am BUILDING STRONG!
