Mr. Dalton Pittenger

This is my first year teaching and I am thrilled to begin my career in Smithville!

I was born and raised in Salina, KS and moved to Warrensburg, MO after graduating high school to pursue my B.S.E in speech communication/theatre. I student taught at Liberty North High School in Liberty, MO in the Spring of 2018 and began teaching at SHS in Fall 2018.

I have been thrilled to direct the following productions during my tenure as the Theatre Director at SHS:

The Addams Family- Fall 2019

To Be Determined - Spring 2020

One-Act TBD- Spring 2020

Favorite play: I firmly believe that Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller is the greatest American play ever written, and Miller was not too shy to say as much himself.

Favorite musical: Whichever one I'm working on currently. When I'm "between shows," common answers will include RagtimeHello, Dolly! You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Oklahoma!

I currently teach Theatre I & II, Theatre Production I & II, Theatre Ensemble I & II, and Fundamentals of Speech

We are also in the process of reactivating International Thespian Society Troupe 6819 here at Smithville High and we would love for you to follow our adventures in that realm.

Additionally, I am a 10th grade warrior time teacher and I am BUILDING STRONG!
