Mrs. Rachel Cooper

Hello.  My name is Rachel Cooper. I am originally from Parsons, Kansas, but my husband Nathan and I have lived in Kansas City since we got married in 2010.  In the years since, our family has grown by two little boys and one big dog, and as a family we love parks and zoos and anything we can do together outdoors.  When I get some free time, I love to read, watch movies, or play volleyball.

I graduated with a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA where I also played collegiate volleyball. Later, I received a Masters in Education in Teaching Mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University.  I have always loved being a student, and I home that my love of learning is something my students see in me and take away from all of my classes.

This year is my tenth year teaching high school, but my very first teaching at Smithville High School.  I spent the first nine years of my career at Platte County High School teaching mostly Geometry and Statistics, and I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to continue teaching these same courses at Smithville High School!   This year, I teach four classes of Geometry and two of AP Statistics as well as being a 10th grade Warrior Time teacher.
