Mr. John Reynolds

This marks my 6th year of teaching at any capacity and now I have transformed into a Warrior, working at the Smithville School District. This year I am a Part-Time ELA III teacher, which means that I work with the Junior level both in-person and online. Before becoming a Warrior, I was a Viking at Northeast High School for the Kansas City Public Schools District. As a Viking, I was a Full-Time ELA III & IV teacher, working with both Juniors and Seniors and I must admit that it has been a pleasure to work with a variety of students and look forward to continuing that tradition.

Now, before I even began to think about becoming a High School English Teacher, I was a College English Teacher for 4 years, teaching mainly creative writing, composition, and literature to a wide diversity of college students. I obtained my first Master's degree from Emporia State University, where I began teaching English for the first time and it has been an amazing adventure so far. Now I'm wrapping up my second Master's degree from the University of Central Missouri for Teaching and this is how I became certified for the High School Level.

Education aside, I enjoy recreational reading, writing, and editing. Also, I have a talent for guitar, video games, filmmaking, graphic designing, and Computer Coding. I am happily married, and have been for 6 years now, and I love my cat, Danger.
