Dear Families,
We finally had a full week of school last week, and it looks like we will again this week. We are so thankful!
Thank you for your attendance at our Book Fair and Family Fun Night. Students and families enjoyed the interactive stations, dinner and the book fair. Here are a few pictures from our night:

We are in the middle of this year's Spring fundraiser: the Horizon Fun Run! The Fun Run is this week on Thursday at the following times:
 K-1 at 9:15am
 2nd-3rd at 10:30am
 4th-5th at 12:45pm
 6th at 2:00pm
If the weather dries up, then we will chart a course outside; if not, then we will set up a glow run in the gym. You are welcome to attend and cheer our runners on!
Our big goal of raising is $15,000 for technology, classroom supplies, and flexible seating! So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. We are trying to get supporters from each state and countries outside of the US. If we meet our goal, then there is some sumo wrestling in the future! Thank you for your support!
Spring pictures are Tuesday, March 19. All students will have their spring pictures taken by Reed Portrait Group. This is not a full length posed image. Shoes will not show. Proofs and order forms will be sent home with students a few weeks after pictures are taken.
Orders are now being taken for the 2018-2019 Horizon Elementary School yearbook. Each yearbook costs $16.
This year we excited to announce that you can order the yearbooks online via the school store. When ordering online you will have the option to pay by check or credit card. You can reach the school store by clicking here. If you would prefer to pay by cash, complete an order form and return it with your payment. When paying by cash include exact change. Order forms were sent home with students and can also be found by clicking hereOrders are due by Friday, March 15. No extra yearbooks will be available for purchase after the due date. Yearbooks will be distributed in time for End of the Year Celebration.
Finally, we are looking forward to meeting our newest HES Warriors. Kindergarten screening is coming up April 11 & 12 at Grace Community Church. See the flyer below:
For Our Kids,

If we are forced to miss a tenth (10th) day, it will be forgiven by the Missouri Department of Education. If we are forced to miss an eleventh (11th) day, it will be made up on Monday, March 25th. If a twelfth (12th) day is necessary, it will be forgiven by the Missouri Department of Education. If a thirteenth (13th) day is necessary, it will be made up on Friday, April 19th. Just a reminder that students need to bring tennis shoes on P.E. days to participate in everything. Students have been missing out on some activities like climbing the rock wall, because they do not have the proper shoes. Thanks for your help!
