Amy Anderson

Mrs. Amy Anderson will be joining SSD’s Central Office as a new Payroll Specialist. 

Originally from Gladstone, MO, Mrs. Anderson is a graduate of the University of Missouri - Kansas City where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and joins the Warrior Family, with nearly eleven years of accounting experience.

 


 

Mrs. Farah Balmer will be joining Horizon Elementary as a Reading Resource Instructional Assistant beginning next school year. 

Originally from Gladstone, MO, Mrs. Balmer received a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Graceland University and Master of Arts in Language and Literacy from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. 

Prior to joining the Warrior Family, Mrs. Balmer taught Kindergarten and First Grade at Our Savior Christian Academy, served as an Aftercare Teacher at Northland Christian School (Liberty Campus), and was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Education.

 


 

Kassidy Beach

Mrs. Kassidy Beach is joining the team at Horizon Elementary School teaching 3rd Grade.

Mrs. Beach earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri.  She continued her education at the American College of Education, earning a Master's degree in Educational Leadership.

Previously Mrs. Beach taught Kindergarten and 2nd Grade.

 


 

 Scott Bogart

Scott Bogart will be joining Smithville School District as Director of Facilities. 

Originally from Liberty, MO, Mr. Bogart joins the Warrior Family with 20 years of experience in the facility and maintenance field.

 


 

Kelly Cashatt

Mrs. Kelly Cashatt is joining Smithville High School as a French Teacher. 

Mrs. Cashatt has earned a Bachelor's degree in French Education and a minor in Spanish Education. She continued her education at Saint Louis University with earning a Master's in French Studies. 

 


 

Tessa Courtoise

Ms. Tessa Courtoise will be joining Smithville High School as an Art Teacher. 

Originally from Kearney, MO, Ms. Courtoise is a graduate of Missouri Western University where she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Education-Art. Prior to joining the Warrior Family, Ms. Courtoise taught Middle School Art in the Lawson School District.

 


 

Monica Cox  

Miss Monica Cox will be joining Smithville Middle School as an ELA Teacher. 

Originally from Crocker, MO, Miss Cox will graduate from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Middle School Education and an ELA certification.

 


  

Mr. Kevin Daniels is joining Smithville School District in the Maintenance Department. 

Mr. Daniels is originally from Lawson, MO. He earned an Associate's degree in Applied Science from Metropolitan Community College of Business and Technology.

 


 

Erika Dobkins

Miss Erika Dobkins will be joining the team at Smithville Middle School as a Special Education Teacher. 

Miss Dobkins attended Ozarks Technical Community College for an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. She continued her education at Southeast Missouri State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a Certificate in Autism.

Miss Dobkins has taught five years of special education and three years as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher.

 


 

Anna Fischer

Ms. Anna Fischer is joining Smithville School District’s Central Office as an Administrative Assistant. 

Originally from Treynor, IA, Ms. Fischer has earned three degrees which include a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Grace University, a Master's of Science in Education - Reading from Concordia University and a Master of Arts in Education - Mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. 

Prior to accepting this role, she has served at Maple Elementary School for 3 years and within the Omaha Public Schools for 9 years.

 


 

Grant Fischer

Mr. Grant Fischer is joining the teams at Smithville High School and Smithville Middle School as an Assistant Director of Bands.

Mr. Fischer earned his Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and is currently working toward his Master's in Music Education at UMKC. 

For the past 3 years, Mr. Fischer has been the teaching at Odessa School District. 

 


 

Lori Flugrad

Miss Lori Flugrad is joining Smithville High School as an Instructional Assistant. 

 


 

Alexandria Hale

Miss Alexandria Hale is joining Smithville Middle School as an 8th Grade English Teacher.

Miss Hale is originally from Wright City, MO. She received a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Central Missouri. 

 


 

Bailey Hiatt

Miss Bailey Hiatt will be joining the team at Horizon Elementary School as an Elementary Special Education teacher. 

Miss Hiatt is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University where she double majored in Elementary Education and Special Education. She is set to graduate again from Northwest with a Masters in K-12 Leadership in August 2021. 

Originally from Weston, MO, Miss Hiatt has worked as a Special Education Teacher for two years within the Raymore-Peculiar School District at Bridle Ridge Elementary.

 


 

Madison Johnson

Ms. Madison Johnson is joining Eagle Heights Elementary School as a Library Media Specialist. 

Ms. Johnson earned her Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Kansas State University. Her Master's in Educational Technology is from Pittsburg State University.

Ms. Johnson taught elementary school for 3 years and moved into the library role last school year. In 2019-2020 Ms. Johnson taught 2nd Grade at Maple Elementary School. 

 


 

 Linda Jordan

Mrs. Linda Jordan is joining the team at Maple Elementary School as an Administrative Assistant. 

Mrs. Jordan is originally from Houston, TX. She formerly worked as an Administrative Assistant at Morton Ranch Elementary School in Katy, TX.

 


 

Ms. Faith Kellner is joining Eagle Heights Elementary School as an Instructional Assistant.

Ms. Kellner is originally from Brighton, IL. She recieved an Associate's degree in Database Programming from Lewis and Clark.

 


 

Tiffany Ketterman

Mrs. Tiffany Ketterman is joining the team at Horizon Elementary School as a Music Teacher.

Originally from Springfield, MO, Mrs. Ketterman earned her Bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education from Missouri State University. 

 


 

Stacey Kochis

Ms. Stacey Kochis is joining the team at Eagle Heights Elementary School as a 5th Grade Teacher. 

Ms. Kochis earned a degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas and an Elementary Education degree from Mid-America Nazarene. 

 


 

Destiny Marsh

Ms. Destiny Marsh is joining Smithville High School as a Business Teacher. 

Ms. Marsh is originally from Springfield, MO. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising and Marketing from the University of North Texas. She continued her education at Rockhurst University by earning a Master of Education degree in Secondary Business Education. 

 


 

Bret Marshall

Mr. Bret Marshall will be joining Smithville High School as a Social Studies teacher. 

Mr. Marshall is originally from the Kansas City area and brings nine years of teaching experience to the High School. His previous education includes two degrees from the University of Central Missouri, a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies Education and a Master's of Science in Education Administration.

 


 

Ashli Martin

Ms. Ashli Martin is joining Maple Elementary School as a Behavior Interventionist. 

Ms. Martin earned a Bachelor's of Science in Behavioral Science from Bellevue University. 

Prior to joining the Warrior family Ms. Martin was a Behavioral Health Specialist on the Community Behavioral Health Team in Johnson County and Lead Behavioral Implementer at Milestones Academy.

 


 

Kathy Mattke

Mrs. Kathy Mattke is joining Smithville School District as a Parents as Teachers Educator. 

Mrs. Mattke earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from University of South Dakota and her Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Missouri Kansas City. 

Mrs. Mattke taught 1st Grade and Kindergarten for 11 years in the Sioux Falls School District and taught Kindergarten in the Smithville School District for 20 years. 

 


 

Brooke McDaniel

Ms. Brooke McDaniel is joining Maple Elementary School as an Istructional Assistant. 

Ms. McDaniel earned a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Northwest Missouri State University.  Previously Ms. McDaniel worked as an intern at SOAR Special Needs and as a Job Coach at Lettuce Dream.

 


 

Sara Miller

Mrs. Sara Miller is joining Smithville High School as an English Teacher. 

Mrs. Miller is originally from Liberty, MO and attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She previously taught High School English at Oak Park High School.

 


 

Scout Montgomery

Ms. Scout Montgomery is joining Horizon Elementary School as a Kindergarten Teacher. 

Ms. Montgomery attended Northwest Missouri State University, where she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood Education and Special Education.

Ms. Montgomery has been teaching Early Childhood Special Education in Savannah, MO.

 


 

Kim Morgan

Mrs. Kim Morgan is joining Smithville High School as a Biology and PLTW Biomedical Science Teacher.

Mrs. Morgan earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from University of Missouri. She earned her teaching certification from Missouri Western University. 

Mrs. Morgan worked for the University of Kansas Medical Center for 10 years and Children's Mercy Hospital for 10 years. Most recently, she has worked for the St. Joseph School District for the past 3 years.

 


 

Amanda Muck

Mrs. Amanda Muck is joining Eagle Heights Elementary as a Preschool Educator. 

Mrs. Muck earned her Associates in Early Childhood Education from Metropolitan Community College - Penn Valley.

Previously Mrs. Muck worked as a substitute teacher, preschool teacher's aide and an instructional assistant.

 


 

Madison Nelson

Miss Madison Nelson will be joining Maple Elementary School as a 6th Grade Teacher.

Originally from Smithville, MO, Miss Nelson attended William Jewell College for her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Miss Nelson attended Northwest Missouri State University to obtain her Master's degree in Administration.

Miss Nelson worked in the Blue Springs School District teaching 3rd and 5th grade. She also worked at William Jewell College for a year as the assistant Women's Basketball Coach.

 


 

Carol Noecker

Mrs. Carol Noecker is joining Smithville School District as the K-12 Real World Learning and Community Partnership Facilitator. 

Mrs. Noecker attended Truman State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business. Mrs. Noecker went on to earn her Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri. 

Mrs. Noecker has been the Executive Director of the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce for the past 4 years, with prior experience in sales and marketing.

 


 

Erika Opperman

Mrs. Erika Opperman is joining the team at Eagle Heights Elementary as a Behavior Interventionist.

Mrs. Opperman served as a long-term substitute in a Behavior Interventionist position during the past school year. While this is her first experience in a traditional educational setting, she's spent over a decade working with students. One of her greatest passions in life is advocating for the next generation.

 


 

Mary Palmer

Miss Mary Palmer is joining the team at Horizon Elementary School as a 1st Grade Teacher.  

Miss Palmer earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Missouri Western State University.

 


 

 Cassandra Pearson

Mrs. Cassandra Pearson is joining Smithville Middle School as a Physical Education Teacher.

Originally from Lathrop, Mrs. Pearson earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Missouri State University. She continued her education at the University of Missouri, earning a Master's of Education in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership as well as a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching.

Mrs. Pearson has taught at Kearney High School, South Harrison, and Springfield Public Schools.

 


 

Mr. Nathan Pratt is joining Smithville High School as the C Team Boys Basketball Coach. 

Mr. Pratt has previously coached at Ridgefield High School. 

 


 

Mr. Kaden Proctor is joining the team at Eagle Heights Elementary School as an Instructional Assistant. 

Mr. Proctor is originally from Kandern, Germany.  He attended Cairn University.

 


 

Jennifer Rinehart

Mrs. Jennifer Rinehart is set to join the team at Horizon Elementary as a Library Media Specialist. 

Originally from Kearney, MO, Mrs. Rinehart is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University where she earned a degree in Elementary Education & Learning Disabilities followed by a Masters in Elementary Administration from William Woods University. She is currently working towards a second Master's Degree from the University of Missouri in Library and Information Sciences. 

Mrs. Rinehart brings 20 years of teaching experience to the Smithville School District.

 


 

Kelly Robb

Mrs. Kelly Robb is joining the Smithville School District as a PRN Athletic Trainer. 

Originally from Sidney, NE, Mrs. Robb attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.

 


 

Maya Rupard

Miss Maya Rupard is joining Horizon Elementary School as a 6th Grade Math Teacher. 

Miss Rupard is originally from Kansas City, MO. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Education from Northwest Missouri State University. 

 


 

Haley Ryun

Mrs. Haley Ryun will be joining Smithville Middle School as a new Mathematics Teacher. 

Mrs. Ryun earned a Bachelor's of Science in Middle School Mathematics and Social Sciences from the University of Missouri. She then returned to Mizzou to earn a Master's in Online Education. 

Mrs. Ryun previously taught pre-algebra for two years in the Kearney School District and another four years teaching math in her hometown of Platte City, MO. 

 


 

Jessica Schmidt

Ms. Jessica Schmidt will be joining Smithville Middle School as a 7th & 8th Grade Resource teacher. 

Originally from Moberly, MO, Ms. Schmidt earned a Bachelors in Elementary and High Incidence Special Education from Benedictine College and a Masters in Low Incidence Special Education from Pittsburg State University. 

Prior to joining Smithville Middle School, Ms. Schmidt was a K-5 Autism Teacher for Leavenworth School District.

 


 

Bridgette Shaiffer

Mrs. Bridgette Shaiffer is joining Maple Elementary School as a 6th Grade Math Teacher.

Originally from St. Joseph, Mrs. Shaiffer earned a degree in Elementary Education and minored in Early Childhood.  

Formerly, Mrs. Shaiffer taught Kindergarten, 4th Grade, and 5th Grade. 

 


 

Simpson

Mrs. Kass Simpson will be joining Smithville Middle School as an Administrative Assistant. 

Originally from Osceola, IA, Mrs. Simpson attended college at Iowa Central Community College and Missouri Western State University.

 


 

Charles Spitsnogle

Mr. Charles Spitsnogle is joining Smithville High School as an Alternative Education Teacher. 

Originally from Lee's Summit, MO, Mr. Spitsnogle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education at the University of Central Missouri.

 


 

Heidi Uptegrove

Mrs. Heidi Uptegrove is joining Eagle Heights Elementary School as a Warrior Preschool Educator. 

Mrs. Uptegrove earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Lee University.

Prior to joining the Warrior family, Mrs. Uptegrove was the Director at A Step Above Preschool for 10 1/2 years. 

 


 

Donna Vennera

Mrs. Donna Vennera will be joining Smithville High School as an Administrative Assistant.

Mrs. Vennera joins Smithville School District after working 17 years at Center High School as a Principal’s Secretary. 

Mrs. Vennera attended the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English.

 


 

Noah Welborn

Mr. Noah Welborn is joining Smithville Middle School as a 7th Grade English Teacher. 

Mr. Welborn is originally from Kearney, MO and attended Metropolitan Community College earning an Associate's in Arts Teaching. He continued his education at Northwest Missouri State University, earning a Bachelor's of Science in English Education with a minor in Theatre.

 


 

Erica Wiedmaier

Miss Erica Wiedmaier is joining Eagle Heights Elementary School as a Special Education Teacher. 

Miss Wiedmaier earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education as well as a Master's degree in Special Education from Northwest Missouri State University.

Miss Wiedmaier worked with preschool students at the start of her career as an educator. Next, she began teaching 2nd grade in Osborn, SD. For the past four years, she has been teaching 2nd and 3rd grade at Lewis Elementary in Excelsior Springs.

 


 

Mr. Caleb Wiley is joining Smithville High School as an Instructional Assistant. 

Mr. Wiley is originally from St. Joseph, MO. He attended Missouri Western State University.

 


  

Kris Wornson

Ms. Kris Wornson is joining the Central Office as a Human Resources/Student Services Administrative Assistant.

Ms. Wornson earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the University of Central Missouri. 

Ms. Wornson previously worked in Human Resources at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown & Atrium Hospitality. Most recently, Ms. Wornson has been a banker at Central Bank of the Midwest.
