The 2018-19 school year included a budget restructuring effort to get back on the course of a balanced budget without impacting the quality of instruction for our students. Naturally, this activity has generated some appropriate questions from our public and the administration will provide an opportunity for patrons to get such questions answered. It is equally important that we learn more about specific concerns our patrons may have so we may demonstrate the appropriate level of transparency.
As a result, the Smithville School District is launching a series of brief walkthroughs as a means to inform patrons how their tax dollars go to work in our schools, answer questions related to the condition of our finances, and learn where we may promote more transparency in regard to the handling of your tax dollars.
Ten one hour time slots have been identified over the remainder of the summer and early fall at various times and on a variety of days of the week. Click here to check days/times and to register.
