Potential Changes to Quarantine Procedures

Dear Warrior Families,

On November 12, 2020, Governor Parson held a press conference that announced changes to quarantine procedures for students and staff who are deemed exposed to COVID-19 in the K-12 school setting.

Smithville School District is continuing to collaborate with the Clay County Public Health Center and other local health officials to determine what this means for our community and schools moving forward. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education shared some guidance with our administration following Governor Parson’s announcement, but we still have many questions to answer.

At this time, the SSD has made no changes to our current quarantine protocol and any staff or student in quarantine due to a COVID-19 exposure should follow the originally established timeline for their return. More information will be released when available.

Please know that keeping our students and staff safe is our top priority, and we thank you for your continued patience and support.

Sincerely,

Scott Reilly
