April is National Autism Awareness Month
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disability; signs typically appear during early childhood and affect a person's ability to communicate, and interact with others. ASD is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a "spectrum condition" that affects individuals differently and to varying degrees. There is no known single cause of autism, but increased awareness and early diagnosis/intervention and access to appropriate services/supports lead to significantly improved outcomes.

School-aged children going in to Kindergarten, 8th Grade, and Seniors are required to have vaccines before they start back to school for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. The Clay County Public Health Center is hoping to "get a jump" this spring with some messaging to parents of the grade levels with required vaccines for next school year. They are encouraging parents to get these vaccines done early to avoid the rush that occurs right before school starts. If you have a child that needs an immunization, the Clay County Public Health Center can provide these.

The information for setting up an appointment is in the  attached flyer.
