Newsletter 10/19/2018

October 19, 2018
I hope you all have had a wonderful week. This weather has been interesting and there are some mornings I feel like we skipped fall all together.  We are nearing the end of our fall sports season and have had a very busy several weeks. Our athletes have had incredible seasons so far and it has been super fun watching the pride from our students and community.  We are extremely blessed for the "Tribe" of students who have supported these events both home and away. Finish Strong Fall athletes! We are behind you all the way!

I mentioned my obsession with researching different ways to help support our students and the anxiety as well as the apathetic behaviors that we see.  I do intend to begin sending out "Tuesday's Tips" within the next few weeks. Our next Monday's Matter session will be more on self-talk and how we describe ourselves. It will be held in the library going forward at 7:15 am each Monday morning.

Let's get ready for another great week!  #WARRIORSTRONG Here we go...

Your Proud Principal,
Dr. Platt

  Warrior Shout-Out's:

  • Dr. Platt won MASC Northwest District's Administrator of the year!

If you have a 9th grader and have not completed proof of residency please do so ASAP. Every 9th grader must complete residency.

Verifying residency will assist the district in updating student records, departmental planning, student safety, and provide more efficient use of taxpayer dollars. In addition, verification of residency will be required anytime there is an address change, regardless of grade level and an Address Change Form will need to be completed.

In order to satisfy the district's residency requirements, the student, parent, or court-appointed legal guardian must complete the Proof of Residency Form and provide one (1) or more of the following items as verification of residency:
  • Utility statement (electric, gas, sewer, or water), dated September 1, 2018 or later with parent(s)   name(s) and current address.
  • Current residential lease agreement, signed by resident and landlord. Ending date cannot be before May 1, 2019.
  • Residential housing contract (purchase) with possession or closing date within 90 days of the first day of school (December 4, 2018).

3.     Important Information from the Lunchroom.
Students need to have their school ID everyday especially if they are purchasing a school lunch. When students do not have their ID, they are receiving a gold slip. Once they receive three gold slips they will receive a lunch detention.  Reprints are $5 and parents will receive an email if they are lost and a new one needs to be reprinted. Also, parents are calling and asking that we put "NO a la carte items" on their students account.  We can no longer do that. It is important that parents communicate with their child that they are not allowed to purchase a la carte items.  We can no longer keep up with the amount of requests we are receiving.
