Student Checkout Date and Times

Grade and Checkout Date and Time- No Student will be permitted into the school building.

 

12th Grade Tuesday, May 26, 9:00 - 12:00 & 1:00 - 3:00 Wednesday, May 27, 9:00 - 12:00 & 1:00 - 3:00

11th Grade Monday, June 1st, 9:00 - 12:00 & 1:00 - 3:00

10th Grade Tuesday, June 2nd 9:00 - 12:00 & 1:00 - 3:00

9th Grade Wednesday, June 3rd 9:00 - 12:00 & 1:00 - 3:00

 

Smithville High School will only be servicing the designated grade level on the specified days listed above. If you miss your designated date and time, please complete the checkout process during the Wednesday evening session. If you have multiple students in the high school and would like to do one checkout for the family, this checkout can also be done during the Wednesday evening session. 

 Our custodians are hard at work sanitizing areas and any space that we occupy has to be sanitized again for safety. For that reason, no students will be permitted into the building during these checkout procedures. All staff assisting with this curbside drop off/pick up will be wearing masks, gloves and adhering to the 6ft requirement as much as possible. **This is a change from the original SENIOR checkout process. Seniors will no longer need to come into the building and all fees etc. will need to be paid prior to receiving their diplomas. Seniors can come during any of the times provided on May 26 and 27th and do not need to follow the original plan since it is curbside. All items in lockers, to include locker room lockers, will be bagged up and labeled with the students name and placed in a location where a runner will retrieve the bag(s) for curbside pick up. ALL students must go through the checkout process and return textbooks, library books, calculators, sewing machines, uniforms and/or any other equipment that belongs to the Smithville School District. This does not include band instruments. The band will be setting up a dropoff time separate from this checkout process. We ask that you do a few things to help keep your family and our staff safe: All cars will move through the “bus lane” at the high school at their given time. Here is the process from there: A staff member will approach the car with a clipboard and ask for the students name. Once we have the name, we will retrieve the schedule for that student and ask what items you are returning to the school. We will take notes on the schedule as to what items are being returned for inventory purposes. Any items not returned will result in fees added until the items are returned. You will then move up to the front doors. Once you reach the front doors, we will ask you to pop your trunk. We ask that you place the items you are returning in the trunk of your car so that we can retrieve them without hand to hand contact. The items will be removed and documented for return at which time any locker item bags will be placed in the trunk and the trunk closed. Cars will then move around to the PAC where chromebooks will be taken. Chromebooks should be kept in the car with students and a staff member will approach the car to retrieve it.
