Girl Scouts pose with a green bookcase that they donated to the Parents As Teachers Program

The Parents as Teachers program in the Smithville School District just got a colorful and thoughtful boost, thanks to the creativity and generosity of Girl Scout Troop 2927.

This spring, the troop painted and donated a vibrant bookshelf to support early literacy efforts within the Parents as Teachers program, which serves families with young children by offering resources, developmental screenings, and in-home visits that help prepare children for a successful start in school.

The Smithville School District celebrates partnerships like this that help strengthen connections between students, families, and the broader community. Thank you, Troop 2927, for helping our youngest Warriors grow and thrive!
