Northland Career Center

Northland Career Center is a public, not-for-profit, career and technical school located within the Platte County R3 School District in Platte City, Missouri.  NCC offers thirteen secondary daytime programs.  SHS students can attend NCC during their junior and/or senior year by applying and shadowing during their sophomore year.  Most students attend NCC for two years in order to earn a certification.  NCC takes up 4 blocks on a student's schedule and students can attend in the a.m. or p.m.  Students earn english, math, and elective credit through their program at NCC.  Speak to your Counselor for more information.

Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (Northland CAPS)

Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (Northland CAPS) is the premier provider of professional, innovative educational experiences for students in the Northland region of Kansas City.  With classes housed in several business locations throughout Clay and Platte counties, high school juniors and seniors from participating districts are provided a fully immersive educational experience in high-demand, high-skill careers that will rapidly accelerate students down their chosen career path.  SHS students can attend Northland CAPS during their junior and/or senior year.  Northland CAPS takes up 4 blocks on a student's schedule and students can attend in the a.m. or p.m.  Students earn either elective credits or science credits, depending on which strand they are enrolled in.  Speak to your SHS Counselor for more information.
