Please join us next Thursday evening at Horizon for our Book Fair & Grandparent's Night!!

August 27, 2026
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Another Warrior football season and fun-filled Friday nights on campus are upon us. Smithville High School has a proud tradition of strong community support as countless fans turn out to support our Warriors. The safety of students, staff, and visitors to our campuses is of the highest priority to the Smithville School District. In the interest of maintaining a safe environment, the following expectations are being required:
Students in grades PK-6 MUST be accompanied and supervised by an adult. PK-6 students should sit with their parents/guardians during the game.
Students will not be allowed to play ball or otherwise congregate to the west of the stadium (behind the home bleachers) or next to the concession stand.
Smithville Middle School students are asked to sit in the south section of the home bleachers. If a middle school student does not sit in the designated middle school section, they need to be accompanied by an adult and sit with them during the game.
Smithville High School students are encouraged to sit in the student section in the south section of the home bleachers.
No open flames and no parking on the grass if you choose to tailgate.
Just a reminder, we have gone to online ticketing, so no cash sales will be available. Adult tickets are $7, and student tickets are $5.
Smithville High School students are free with their student ID.
Children under 5 do not require a ticket for entry.
You may purchase your tickets at: https://smithville.hometownticketing.com/embed/all
Do not hesitate to ask a staff member for assistance if needed. Thank you for your support. We look forward to cheering on our Warriors!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mellon

Horizon Families,
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up on May 4-8. PTO would like to inform you of a few ways you can participate in supporting and encouraging our Horizon Teachers and Staff. These ideas are completely optional so please participate in whatever capacity best suits your family.
Throughout the week, Horizon, PTO and some of our local businesses will be providing meals, treats and gifts for our staff. We have created a signup HERE for anyone interested in donating drinks to stock the staff lounge for the week.
If you are considering gifting something to a teacher/staff, we have compiled a list of their favorite things as well as their Amazon wish lists HERE. We ask that you please consider our encore/reading/SPED/IA and other teachers/staff who are involved in your child's weekly education.
Here is a list of ideas for students to show their love and appreciation for their teachers this week. These are all completely optional and can be brought in at any time:
Give your teacher a thank you card or note telling them what you have loved about them as your teacher!
Make your teacher a special picture or drawing
Write your teacher a poem
Bring your teacher a gift, gift card or one of the items from their Amazon Wishlist.
Lastly, we want to thank you for ALL the support and encouragement you have provided to our teachers, staff and school this school year. Your generous involvement, donations and support have helped us provide things for our students and staff that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. We really do have the BEST parents and families and it's all because of YOU!
Thanks again!
