There aren't any PGA golfers in this agency. However, Smithville has a Connor Holcomb pulling a 39 in a 9-hole match against some rival schools. That score helped bring Smithville this victory and being recognized as Athlete of the Week!!
Athlete of the Week is a part of our Kindness Initiatives with the Smithville School District where we're trying to help spread kindness throughout our schools and community by celebrating students and their accomplishments! Also, yard signs have started! So, if you pass one, I think you're supposed to honk to celebrate 😄

Reflecting on athletic achievements is a great opportunity to look back on the many successes of student-athletes that call Smithville home.
With state championships won, buzzer beaters made, school records shattered and other accolades received, we at the Courier-Tribune want to honor these achievements and hear from you. Now is your opportunity to decide who earns our Athlete of the Year award.
One boy and one girl athlete from Smithville will be chosen for the awards. Those who earn the most votes will win. Winners will be announced in coming print editions and digital sports coverage that includes our social media accounts and website.
Voting closes Monday, June 5, so be sure to spread the word and vote for the most deserving area athletes.
Go Vote!
