Our Speech and Debate team traveled to Maryville High School over the weekend and did very well! Please help me in congratulating our students on a job well done!

All-State Choir --
Based on auditions from September, several students were selected to participate in the All-District Choir clinic & concert this past Saturday. They gave an amazing concert under the direction of Dr. Maglione from William Jewell.
During the day, auditions were held to see who would be given All-State honors. Placing in the top 10 earns an Honorable Mention. Top 6 qualifies you as an alternate. Only the top 4 in each voice part are selected to the All-State Choir. Congratulations to the following:

AP Psychology Virtual Field Trip
AP Psychology students met with Dr. Sam Gersham from Harvard University. He is a cognitive neuroscientist and shared about his career and his research, learning about how single celled organisms are capable of housing memory.

Middle School and High School students are invited to the downtown square after the home football game on October 21st for the last 5th Quarter event of the year. The Smithville Middle School Parent Group is hosting with live entertainment from the Little Platte River Band. There will be free snacks and games. Plus, many downtown businesses will be open late including Nellie's Sweet Shoppe, Cornerstone Coffee and Humphrey's Bar & Grill KC . Parent pick up is at the corner of Main and Commercial no later than 11:30pm
The Color Guard will be hosting a Community Showcase on Saturday, 10/22 at 4:00. Entry is free, and food will be available for $8.00. Come down for an early dinner and enjoy a retrospective performance from this fall. See flier inside

Picture Retake Day for Grades 9-11
If you ordered pictures, your student should have received them last week. If your student has not yet taken a school picture, or needs to do picture retakes they will be done during Warrior Time on Monday, October 24th. Please have your student sign up in the office for a pass out of class.
Seniors will be invited to make up their Cap & Gown pictures during Warrior Time on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
Boys Basketball Sign-up Information
