Coach Funk brings a strong background in both playing and coaching. A 2010 graduate of Kearney High School, he went on to play collegiate basketball at Northwest Missouri State. He began his coaching career with five years as an assistant at Kearney High School, followed by one year at Liberty High School.
Most recently, Coach Funk served as the Head Coach at West Platte High School for five seasons, where he compiled an impressive 82–46 career record and built a competitive, successful program.
We are thrilled to have Coach Funk lead our program and continue building a strong tradition of Warrior Basketball. Please join us in welcoming him to Smithville!
