All three teams of the Smithville Warrior Baseball Program were in action Monday afternoon and all three programs came away victorious. Varsity got things started versus the Excelsior Springs Tigers at home. Senior Mason Crim started on the mound, notching four innings and scattering three runs over those frames. Sophomore Austin Miller came in to relieve Crim, tossing three innings of shutout ball while allowing only one runner to reach, picking up the save in the process. Offensively the Warriors were led by Juniors Ryker Edwards and Andrew Hedgecorth, both had three hits and an RBI in the contest. Junior Noah Vollenweider tallied a double and a crucial sacrifice bunt as well. Varsity is on the road at Ruskin on Wednesday, first pitch is slated for 4pm.

Junior Varsity followed up Varsity’s win with one of their own, beating Excelsior Springs 11-1. Sophomore Jackson Cendroski turned in a quality start on the mound and gave way to Junior Lucas Clay in relief. Freshman Drake Odneal went 3-3 with two RBI’s while Junior Josiah Franke added two RBI’s of his own. The JV Warriors are 3-0 on the year.

Finishing up the sweep on the day, the C Team defeated St. Joe Central 10-0. The Warriors were powered by excellent pitching from Freshmen Jake Kruse, Gavin Rist, Colten Stark, and Sophomore Kade Thurston. The C-Team is back in action Wednesday at home versus Liberty North, first pitch at 4PM.
