AT-RISK SERVICES

ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT

The mission of the At-Risk Department is to provide a continuum of services to students or groups of students who are considered to have a higher probability of failing academically or dropping out of school.

At-risk is a term that may apply to students who face circumstances that could jeopardize their ability to complete school due to homelessness, incarceration, teenage pregnancy, serious health issues, domestic violence, transiency (as in the case of migrant-worker families), or other conditions.

At-risk may also refer to students with learning problems, low test scores, disciplinary problems, grade retention, or other learning related factors that could adversely affect the educational performance and attainment of some students.
