Although it has looked like a big pile of dirt for some time, we are looking forward to removing the dirt pile and placing the transportation facility in the coming weeks (weather permitting). The pile of dirt was for the purpose of compacting the soil after removal of rock from the site.
Fiber and power have been run to the site of the transportation facility.
The new district-owned transportation facility will provide better efficiency for bus routes and trips, and will also promote the recruitment of drivers and training opportunities. Thank you to our community for continued support of the Smithville School District!
