Smithville High School has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2026–2027 Best High Schools list, recognizing the school’s academic performance and preparation of students for life after high school.
The annual U.S. News & World Report rankings evaluate public high schools across the country based on several measures, including performance on state-required tests, graduation rates, and how well schools prepare students for college.
“People often ask me what is the best part of myjob, and the answer is always the same... our students,” said SHS Principal Scott Moore. “I am continually humbled and proud to walk the halls with our amazing Warrior Family. This recognition reflects the hard work of our students and staff and the commitment we share to providing students with opportunities to succeed both during high school and after graduation.”
