Megan meets students where they are at. She is an advocate for students and is able to form strong relationships with her students. Megan brings a sense of warmth and comfort to all she interacts with. She is always willing to have tough conversations in a kind manner and advocates for staff needs as well. Today, students in Ms. Jordan’s 4th grade class did the Twist-O-Matic challenge. Students were tasked with creating an amusement park ride using rulers, rubber bands, binder clips, and a heavy book. Students shared their predictions on which type of rubber band would work best for the ride, a thin or a thick one, then discussed where the stored energy would come from. Warrior Shout-Out: “Lacey goes above and beyond for students. She works diligently to meet student needs, help them feel welcome and loved, and support them in all areas of their lives. Lacey started a TRIBE Thanksgiving this year and allowed students to invite family and staff from the building to eat with and share their gratitude with. She is the first one to greet you with a smile or a joke on those tough days. She is always willing to find a positive in any situation. Lacey is a shining light for students, staff, and SMS as a whole. We are incredibly grateful to have Lacey as part of our SMS staff.”

Warrior Shout-Out: “Anna goes out of her way daily to be kind to each student and staff member as they go through her line. She knows the students by name and is always greets them with a smile. She is patient, kind, understanding and looks out for the best interest of each child. NOW for the good part..... her food is AMAZING. She has to not only deal with the regular school lunches but also has to cater to students that are gluten free or pureed or other dietary needs. My students love the sack lunches she prepares for field trips and look forward to them. I have been in multiple schools throughout my teaching career and Maple (by far) has the best food of any. Teacher's specials are ALWAYS delicious and you can tell she adds all the extras to make each special just what it is called.... SPECIAL. Thank you Anna for going above and beyond every single day!”

Beyond his hard work, Dave takes the time to coach and communicate with others, lifting up his colleagues and sharing his expertise. Joey is always a positive addition to our day when he stops by Eagle Heights. Joey is open to conversations about ways to make things easier for students, staff, and the tech department and has collaborated on multiple projects to make them happen. Many times, people stop him to ask a question or with an issue, and he is always happy to pivot and assist them while putting his current task on pause. Everyone at Eagle enjoys seeing Joey in our building!

Jackie is just the best! She provides love through food, and does so in many different ways, for many different gathers, occasions, meetings, etc. She is a hoot to chat with as well. Anytime someone can fill my belly and make me laugh when we chat, that’s my kind of people! I’m so thankful for Jackie and the incredible service she provides for our students specifically, and I’m thankful we have her at Horizon Elementary. Thank you for all you do!

Noelle's passion for literature and her deep commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing in her students is simply amazing. What sets Noelle apart is her ability to create a classroom environment that feels both challenging and welcoming. She fosters a space where students feel safe to take risks with their ideas, ask questions, and express themselves without fear of judgment. Through her encouragement, many students have gained confidence in their writing skills and have learned to value the power of their own voices.
Warrior Preschool Program is a tuition-based preschool program at Smithville School District. The goal of our Warrior Preschool Program is to provide students with an opportunity to engage with peers and educators, giving a head start on school readiness skills in a real school environment. Warrior Preschool Program offers half-day am, half-day pm, and full-day classes.
