"I am truly excited to recommend Monica Leary for the Ultimate Warrior Award. If you spend even a single day in our building, it’s easy to see the impact she has. She goes above and beyond in ways big and small, always putting students, staff, and our school community first.
Monica makes a real difference in students’ lives. She is present, approachable, and consistent. She handles every situation with empathy and fairness, making sure students feel heard while still holding them to high expectations. Whether she’s helping solve a problem, celebrating a student success, or navigating a tough situation, she leads with both professionalism and heart. Students trust her, and that trust has helped create a school environment where they feel safe and supported.
She is also an incredible support to staff. Monica listens, collaborates, and steps in without hesitation whenever someone needs help. She has a way of making people feel valued and appreciated, and her leadership brings out the best in those around her. She strengthens morale simply by being steady, positive, and solution focused.
What makes Monica so deserving of this recognition is that her impact reaches far beyond her job title. She shows up every day committed to doing what’s best for our school community. Recognizing her as the Ultimate Warrior would not only honor her hard work, but also highlight the kind of leadership and heart that make our building such a special place."

Celebrating #LoveTeachingWeek with a spotlight on Samariah Jordan!
Samariah’s path to teaching started in a preschool classroom, where she first realized how much she loved helping kids grow and learn. Now as a 4th grade teacher at Horizon Elementary, she gets to watch her students make connections between what they’re learning in Science and Social Studies and the world around them. We’re so grateful for the care, encouragement, and heart she pours into her students. 👏👏👏

Today we recognize and thank our School Protection Officers and School Resource Officers! You do more than protect our buildings—you build relationships, support students, and help ensure our schools remain places where learning can thrive.
Thank you for protecting our schools and caring for our students and staff every day. 💚

While our students enjoyed a day off, our teachers were hard at work investing in their craft during Professional Development Day!
This year, our growth is centered around four key pillars:
🧠 Critical Thinking
💻 Technology
🤝 Professional Learning Communities
🎯 Competency-Based Learning
Today looked a little different than traditional PD. Our staff participated in an exciting EdCamp experience — a high-energy, teacher-led model where educators shared their own expertise with one another. Nearly 25 teachers led 19 unique sessions, proving that some of the best ideas come from right here in our own hallways.
